Raseef (Platform) Project
Rassef (platform) Project has been founded in November 2015, by an agreement with Seyam Coffeeshop administration, which is located at El Attareen the popular neighborhood, in Alexandria. Raseef has aimed to allow independent artists to communicate directly with the street audience through presenting artistic performances that suit the nature of the place such as performances of simple performing arts (theater, music), visual exhibitions and seminars.
Raseef’s Mission:
Reusing and converting existing spaces on the street, related or close to it to be able to present sustainable cultural and artistic events.
Raseef’s aims:
- Creating alternative multiple points of direct contact between creators and the audience, where freedom of creativity and engagement are available.
- Providing support to creators to achieve local and regional prevalence opportunities for independent creative practices.
- Stimulate the creative process of all parties to accept the culture of difference, and deal with the other without turning to preconceptions or prejudices.
- Establishing an independent artists network to create cooperation and production opportunities.
Raseef Objectives:
Raseef project is moving throughout the months of the year in searching for open and unconditional open spaces (cafes, squares, gardens, shops, etc.), and adapting them to provide multiple forms of art and performances that are able to communicate directly with the street audience (performing arts, seminars, literary salons, visual arts exhibitions, music listening programs, concerts, etc.) through almost daily programming that takes into account as much diversity as it can.
Target group:
The public of any gender within the geographical area surrounding the space, in the age groups 18 to 45 years, unless there is an activity dedicated to a certain age group. Bearing in mind that each event targets a smaller segment or sector within the target group.
