Reflection for Arts

El Performagya – Perform Forum for Performing Arts

El Performagya is a term – non-common – that we have carved to refer to those people who work and involved with the performing arts. It is inspired by the Egyptian Slang. It is in a plural form, so it could be "El Performagy" to refer to the singular form.
Perform Forum for Performing Arts, at first came as a phasic part of “Perform – Performing Arts Consultancy Office” project, where El Performagya is considered as a non-academic and non-formal graduation project,  where the trainees -under the supervision of Perform - through the forum practically practice the planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the effectiveness of their ability to work together, which makes it necessary and even mandatory to respect diversity and availability. These are some of the problems that we have observed during our work, and this forum has come to be an example of the ability to solve many of these problems. In addition to the diversity of the activities among the various forms of performing arts, it is considered to be an award for all participants after their long and relatively difficult journey of training.
The first edition, and only till now, of El Performagya forum, from December 13 till 21, 2017, had held in partnership with Jesuit Cultural Centre – Alexandria and contained 11 performances ranging from dance, music, and theater. 9 performances had been presented by the participating groups and organizations, as well as two performances that had been hosted by the forum to enrich its diversity.
